Don’t forget your devotional even though it is a holiday weekend.   God has gifts He wants to impart into your life.  Are you ready to receive His gifts of strength?   God may have to speak strongly.  Are you ready to listen?

Follow the instructions of page 26 in your devotional book.  Our new section focuses on “strength in service”.   In today’s thinking, being a real man is to be independent and free.  But God has a better way.  As you “bind” yourself to Jesus Christ, you discover God’s plan for men.

Do you feel your strength being drained today.  Repeat the words of today’s Scripture (Matthew 11:28).  As your devotional says, “He is the Lion of Judah”.    He has all the strength you need for today.  Rest in Him!

The strength of a Christian man is not seen  in outward display.  As your devotional points out, our strength is “hidden in Christ”.  Let your “roots” go deep in Christ.  He is your strength.

Think about your own devotional life as you look at today’s reading .  We can’t “impress” the Lord with flowery words.  He just wants you to talk to Him from your heart.  Then listen to what He has to say.

Much of our world has the same opinion as that of Jesse Ventura, the wrestler.  But this is not true strength.  May you receive special revelation from the Holy Spirit as you meditate on today's devotional.  I know you are getting "stronger in the Lord".  God bless you!

Don't forget to read the "conclusion" on page 14 and 15.  Today's devotional will help you learn the importance of "facing the facts" and how and how that relates to being a man of strength.  God bless you as you make the closing prayer your prayer!

MEN OF STRENGTH: Today's devotional is titled---"Hidden Strength".  Even though Elijah was the great prophet of God, just like us at times he "ran out of fuel."  Today's reading will help you get through the testing time.  God bless you today.

GENERAL MESSAGE: Let me remind you.  Don't forget about the miracle of the penny!  As I was sitting in the doctor's office this week, I noticed a man seated nearr me who looked very worried and troubled.  "I wonder if I have a penny," I thought to myself.  Sure enough, I had one penny in my pocket.  As I got his attention, I said, "Sir, I can see that you seem to be worried about some things,  Here, here is a penny.  God is in the small things and it is a reminder that the Lord knows all about you and wants you to know that He cares about you."  Immediately, his countenance changed and a big smile came across his face.  "Thank you," he replied, as I noticed him clinching the penny in his hand.  Remember!  May the Lord bless you today.  Share His love with someone else!

MEN OF STRENGTH: I want to connect with each of you who are committed to reading the 25 daily devotionals from the book---Strong in the Lord.  Today is day 3 of our journey.  What an encouraging devotional!  Think about the last statement, "Relying on ourselves, we will discover only our weakness.  Relying on God, we will discover His strength, His unlimited power, and His undying love.' Wow!  Keep up the good work.  I am praying for you, that all of us become "Men of Strength" before the Lord.  Don't forget to mark your calendar.  July 2nd at 8 am "Men of Strength" breakfast at Ryan's on Lapalco Blvd.  Don't have a book?  Get your free copy this Sunday.

GENERAL MESSAGE: Yesterday, I met with my surgeon.  I received an excellent report.  "I would like to pray with you," I said,  "I want to take time to thank the Lord for you and for your part in my diagnosis and surgery."  We joined hands and thanked the Lord for His blessings.  I then asked him, "Have you been reading the One Year Bible I gave you?"  "Yes, I have even though I got behind and had to do some catch-up.  You know, I had a flash-back as I read about Absalom to a time in a church about 30 years ago when a lady opened a large Bible and I saw Absalom, son of King David, hanging by his hair from a tree."  "You see, doctor, the Bible is really an exciting Book," was my reply as we finished our visit.  Keep him in your prayers.
